Services Performed
  • CEL is on. Evacuated system to check for refrigerant, system pressures were at almost 0 when hooked up. Evacuated 0lbs of refrigerant – system completely empty. Performed leak test via vacuum. Leak test passed. Recharged system and turned AC on – heard loud noise when compressor kicked on. Inspected compressor and it does engage but the clutch has failed. AC Compressor needs to be replaced. Compressor is not spinning when clutch is engaged. Disconnected electrical connector at AC compressor to avoid major issue from compressor failing. Engine has several oil leaks on side of engine, looks like all common vtec solenoid leaks front, side and rear of engine are leaking.
  • AC SERVICE – Evac system prior to repairs. Once repairs are completed perform leak test. If no leaks, refill system and verify function
  • 3 of the 4 bolts were VERY stuck. With penetrant oil and time, working bolts was able to get all 4 out. 1 bolt head is a bit rounded, did not torque fully but it will be OK as long as it doesn't sit forever and rust in again. Installed new orings for extension and both ac lines at compressor, verified compressor had oil in it prior to install. Swapped clutch connector to new compressor. Pulled vac on system for 30min after new compressor installed – passed leak test. Filled system with specified amount of refrigerant. AC compressor now cycles normally and sounds quiet. AC blows very cold.
  • P0420 fault stored – cel is not currently on. Recommend 02 sensors to determine if cat is actually starting to loose efficiency but no other symptoms or concerns at this time
