- Engine seems to run ok, no misfire felt or cel. Scanned faults, P0420 – cat efficiency bank 1 fault stored. Due to customer complaint suspect plugged cat causing low power. Found no visible issues under hood. Test drive and monitored 02 sensor data. All 4 sensor responded normaly, bank 1 sensor 2 reading was all over the place. CEL came on during test drive – p0420 stored as active. Checked temps pre and post cats and found bank 1 was almost 500deg pre and about 350 post. Bank 2 was about 400 pre and 350 post. Suspect cat is plugged up causing power loss. Suspect it is bank 1 cat. Recommend removal for further inspection.
