    • Engine running rough o/a – would not climb onto trailer on its own. CEL is on and will start flashing when engine is at idle. Scanned faults and found cylinder 4 misfire fault stored. Removed spark plugs on cylinder 4 side for inspection, did comp check on all 4. Cyl 1 150 Cyl 2 148 Cyl 3 155 Cyl 4 150 Spark plug gap is about .043 – max spec is – replaced all 4 plugs with new, re-installed ignition coils and cleared faults. No misfires after replacing spark plugs. Took on road test. Engine runs fine at idle but is laggy when applying throttle. Will barely accelerate to 25mph – suspect cats are clogged, found no other issues during inspection.

    • CEL o/a – scanned faults and printed report. Inspected top side of engine and found fuel injectors and valve cover leaking – not too bad. Large oil leak visible from top on front main side of engine, lower timing cover coated in oil residue. Checked service history, no record of timing belt being changed, it is almost 40k overdue – recommend belt ASAP unless it has been done already (may not show on report depending who did the replacement). 5 faults stored in ECM: P0401 EGR flow insufficient detected P2002 Particle trap (bank 1) efficiency below threshold P0401 EGR flow insufficient detected P1570 Engine control unit disabled Possible causes for P0401 is EGR valve or EGR cooler, engine coolant is also low – pressure tested cooling system. Looked up vin and this car is covered under the extended warranty for emission systems from VW – recommend taking to dealer for diag/repair if covered under warranty Coolant leaking from small hose to def injector – recommend new hose, looks like someone replace hose clamp previously but other end is leaking at plastic hose to rubber junction. Transmission leaking oil from front cover seal. Engine on belt side is covered in oil, determining exactly what is leaking will be difficult, but looks like main leak is either front crank seal or timing cover area, upper oil pan or lower pan may also be leaking. Oil drain plug is leaking, engine oil filter housing is leaking – looks to be just end cap for filter, but may be housing.
    • Replaced coolant hose assembly to DEF injector. Topped up coolant.
    • Tore down timing belt side of engine for better visibility – inspected oil leaks. Valve cover leaking oil along with injector seals on top of valve cover. Inspected front crank seal for leakage – doesn't appear to be leaking but timing belt had slight wear. Changed engine oil and filter – used 5.4L 5w30 synthetic. Topped up washer fluid and reset service indicator.
    • Removed fuel injectors for valve cover replacement. Replaced valve cover, injector return line, injectors seals, and injector hold-down hardware.
    • Replaced leaking transmission cover, filter, and performed DCT fluid service. Used 6L DCT fluid, set level per correct fluid temperature.
    • Replaced fuel filter.

    • Replaced all 4 spark plugs with new, torqued spark plugs to 18nm
    • Drained and refilled transmission fluid using scan tool to set fluid level. Used about 5.6L of new fluid
    • Drained and refilled front and rear differential fluid. Old fluid was almost black and smelled very bad for both front and rear. Recommend more frequent diff fluid changes – no large metal shavings or anything concerning other than very old fluid

    • Replaced engine oil and filter. Replaced all 4 spark plugs and replaced engine air filter. Replaced cabin air filter. Flush complete brake system with new fluid. Brake pads have about 6mm left all 4. Tires are in good shape, rotated front to back and set tire pressures. Drained and refilled front and rear differentials, replaced seal rings on drain and fill plugs. Replaced transmission fluid, used scan tool to set final fluid level. Trans fluid was still clearish and did not smell too bad, used about 6L of new fluid. Rear diff fluid was dark grey and smelled awful, front diff was not too bad. Serpentine belt is needed but got wrong size, will have customer return to install correct belt. Noticed wheel bearing noise on test drive, recommend having checked soon

    • Replaced engine oil and filter. Drained transmission fluid and replaced with about 4L and ran engine for about a min. Drain fluid a second time and replaced another 4L. Used scan tool to set fluid level. Brake pads are about 8mm front and 7mm rear, rotors are in good condition at this time. Drained and refilled front and rear differential. Flushed brake fluid at all 4 corners until fluid ran clear. Rotated tires front to back and set tire pressures, reset tpms. Tires are in good condition and are wearing evenly. Removed air box and battery, replaced all 4 spark plugs. Test drove to verify no issues. Found no issues during inspection, bushings, shocks, exhaust suspension are all in good shape. No leaks found on engine or transmission Does not look like serpentine belt has been replaced, recommend replacement due to mileage.
