    • P0193 fuel rail pressure circuit – high input Found spot where harness rubbed on oil filter cap. 1 Wire has worn through and into the copper but minimally. Removed wire cover and cleaned wire, inspected and found only the 1 wire had slight damage – cleaned and taped wire separate and put some plastic protectant covering on to help not damage wire further. Tested continuity and resistance – wire is OK at this time .Cleared faults and P0193 immediately. Tested fuel pressure sensor, tested within spec (12v at pin 1, 5v and pin 2 and 3), recommend replace fuel pressure sensor and see if high input fault goes away. Wire that is slightly open is not for fuel pressure sensor so it is unrelated to faults at this time. If high input returns will need to test physical fuel pressure at rail compared to sensor reading with new sensor. Also a common issue is a bad ground in the wiring harness which can also be repaired without replacing the whole engine harness. When due for next oil change or larger repair work, recommend removing EGR and Throttle valve to perform permanent wire repair. Should be fine in the mean time with temp repair.
    • Replaced rail sensor and cleared faults. Circuit fault did not return. Nox and regen required faults returned. Performed a forced regen while standing, took a couple tries to get it started but started and completed. System is in good condition with very low measured soot content. N0X regen still required, must enable and perform during drive. Circuit fault has not returned after several test drives. DS headlight bulb out – replaced with new.
    • Performed forced regen while sitting 2x – took about 5 tries to get started but once started completed and got a "system OK" after completion both time. Lights remained on in dash for Nox limit and regen required. Performed test drive in regen parameters for 50mi, lights would not reset. Using scan tool, enabled auto regen feature and test drove for another 50+ miles until lights shut off. No faults stored after over 100mi of test driving and after regen is completed. Circuit fault has not returned.

    • Car idled OK on arrival but had 2 faults stored: P228C00 Fuel pressure regulator A exceeded control limits, pressure too low P240700 Evap leak detection pump sense, circuit intermittent/erratic Checked timing chain measuring block, bank 1 phase position is at 0.3*. Removed oil cap while engine idle, massive vac in valve cover while running, oil cap is leaking oil. Recommend replacing PCV with latest revision and seeing if evap or idle issues return. Recommend spark plugs if not replaced in last 30k.
    • Replaced PCV and spark plugs. Cleared faults and test drove. Engine idle was improved and there is much less vac at oil cap when idling.

    • PS front outer pad is metal on metal, DS has about 4mm of pad left. Brake calipers and rotors are VERY rusty. Recommend new calipers, pads and rotors on front and brake fluid flush for complete system.
    • Replaced both front calipers and both sides pads and rotors. Bled brake system and performed test drive. Brakes are smooth and firm, no noises present.

    • P0544.01 – Exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit – bank 1 – upper limit exceeded Checked fuses for egt circuit – good. Located sensor indicated by fault code and tested power and sensor circuits – both tested OK. Checked results and confirmed – power supply and ohm reading for sensor within range. When sensor is disconnected (open circuit) the reading in the ECU is 930. Re-assembled, cleared faults and test drove, fault returned. Also noticed during test drive reading live data sensor reading was sporadic and would often go open (reading the max value) while driving. Recommend replacing EGT sensor due to intermittent fault in sensor.

    • Leak detection pump has failed and needs to be replaced. Circuit high fault indicates pump is drawing too much current. Commanded pump on with scan tool and pump does not operate at this time. Wiring looks in good condition and fuses are not blown. Recommend replacing pump and confirming function.
    • Tested old pump before removal for Voltage and resistance specification readings. Voltage was present but pump failed specified resistance readings. New pump gave correct reading so it was installed. Read codes, then cleared codes after install. Codes were for leak detection pump and 1 tire pressure warning. 1 Code 02746 for RT side DRL/ (daytime running lamp) was only other code in system. Headlamp removal required to replace it. Checked fluids and tire pressures. Added small amount of coolant. and added a small amt of oil. (less than 1/2 qt.) Just to be safe. No leaks found.

    • 3 Faults stored in engine module o/a: 009218 – EVAP Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit P2402 – 000 – Short to Plus 009226 – EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Heater Control Circuit P240A – 000 – Open Circuit 001095 – Control Circuit for EVAP Vent Control P0447 – 000 – Open Circuit Bulb out warning on in dash – customer states this is intermittent. Coolant level low o/a – almost to low mark. Performed cooling system pressure test and topped up coolant as needed. Oil filter leaking o/a – removed and found filter had been previously damaged, looks like it was trying to be removed with pliers. Filter was VERY over tightened. Filter was damaged further during removal. Found oil cooler nut was loose, tightened and installed new filter – no more oil leak. Cleaned under tray from oil drip as well as area around leak. Noise from rear brakes audible o/a – removed DS rear wheel and found a bunch of debris and sand behind rotor. Cleaned and noises stopped. Removed EVAP purge valve and tested – does not hold vac on either side when valve is closed. Performed actuation test via scan tool and valve opens/closes on command. Recommend new valve due to leak. Burned out RF DRL lamp. Only comes on with ignition on, not on from the light switch. Have to pull bumper skin and H/L assembly to get to the bulb. Cigarette lighter not working. Found blown fuse in interior fuse panel. Had a blown 30 amp fuse in it, calls for a 20amp. Also has interior lamps on same circuit. Replaced with 20 amp fuse, lighter and lights came back on. Fixed. Do not put bigger fuse as replacement.
