    • Vehicle started no problem for about 10 starts in a row, completed a battery test and it said "good battery, recharge" meaning the battery could be revived if it was slowly charged long enough. We have seen many issues with this era oem battery – recommend replacement due to age. Put a new battery in and reset the clock, reset the windows and fired it up. Car started just fine and has no issues. Before the battery I put the car in the air and did an underside inspection, no issues were found. Checked engine oil and its right at the full mark. Other fluids and filters are just fine. Pulled codes on the car and they were just voltage codes from the battery being weak, cleared the codes. Set the tire pressure to 35PSI all around and cleared the tpms light. Test drove the vehicle and it drove great. No issues as of now, would recommend trying to drive the vehicle more often to avoid similar issues in the future. Oil service is due in about 1000mi

    • Vehicle had audible misfire and flashing check engine light on arrival, customer stated they had no idea when plugs where last replaced so we replaced spark plugs and ignition wires due to age. Found 2 spark plugs covered in burnt oil – spark plug tube seals are leaking on both banks. Replaced spark plugs and wires and started engine, misfires are no longer present Battery terminals where corroded – cleaned and sprayed protective spray on terminals. Engine air filter is VERY dirty, recommend replacement soon. Noticed on alternator 1 wire is broken at connector – alternator output 14.2v at idle. Recommend wire repair ASAP, wire is broken at connector so new pin will be required for repair. Checked engine oil level, coolant and tire pressures and set all to correct levels before test drive. Engine oil was about 1qt low o/a – topped up with synthetic 5w30 to full mark. Monitored misfire data while driving, car drove smooth and accelerated easily to hwy speed.

    • Scanned faults and found 1 stored in abs/vsc – steering angle sensor. 7 Faults in TPMS (low pressure and no communication). All faults listed as "history". Cleared faults and test drove, no lights came on and got over 35mph 2x. Found PS front shocks is blown and leaking oil, DS lower ball joint is VERY loose – recommend replacement ASAP. During test drive noticed very loud wheel bearing – sounds like LF but need to verify with stethescope. Scoped all 4 wheel bearing with car running in air – DS front and passenger rear are both very loud, PS rear is noisy but not as bad as other 2. Recommend all 4 be replaced sooner than later.
    • Replaced both lower ball joints with new, replaced castle nuts, torqued to spec and installed new cotter pins.
    • Replaced front shocks and upper mounts. Installed in vehicle and torqued all fasteners to factory specifications.
    • Removed wheel hubs from vehicle and replaced both front wheel bearings with new hub/bearing assemblies. Replaced all 4 bolts on DS due to rust.
    • Performed front end alignment. Set camber and toe within factory specifications. Caster had slight split but not too far to be concerned about. PS front toe had over 2* of toe in. Rear toe is slightly out but rear wheel bearings are needed. Recommend wheel bearings and fresh alignment check after install.

    • Removed bumper skin to remove both headlamps. Several push pins were missing as someone has removed skin before. Found some extras and replaced the missing ones. (5) of them. Noticed head gaskets are weeping on both sides while i was underneath. Installed new lamps on both sides and tested functions and they worked. Put old lamps in box and put them in the trunk. Headlight adjustment knobs do not work right out of the box. Contacted company and they will send replacements soon.

    • Pressure tested cooling system. Radiator was full on arrival. Held 17psi for long time with No leaks found underneath, or evidence of any head weep. Temp gauge can climb past normal with a/c on during sustained climbs is possible, even without visible leak. Block test is next test avail.
    • Customer noted on drop off that 3 studs have broken on 3 different wheels. He would like to replace ALL studs on each wheel with new studs. RR done (5) LR getting new wheel bearing due to noise Need 10 studs and some new lug nuts to complete the fronts.
    • Replaced rear section and muffler. Flange on rear cat section is VERY rusted but was able to secure using replacement used hardware. Hangers are all in good shape. Installed new gasket at front of rear section and at muffler junction.
    • LR bearing done. Very rusty/hard fight. Needs new mounting bolts @ next visit. Test drove and its quiet. Replaced all 4 bolts with new oem hardware 9/28 – BP

    • Confirmed RR wheel bearing is broken, not just worn out. (mega play)I would not drive it much further, especially @ highway speed. Some rust to work around nut not alot. TPMS is flashing on arrival. Front bumper skin is popped out of clip on LF corner No visible leaks underneath. Some front suspension light rattle heard when driving. End links are easy to move and struts feel a little splashy. they look to be the original struts.
    • Remove and replace RR bearing assy. Needed 1 new bolt because 1 got damaged on removal due to rust factor. Installed customers RR rotor and pads from his leftover brake kit in trunk.

    • Confirmed code in ECM and ABS (see printout) double checked cam sensor connections. Cleared codes. Traction lamp went out after engine code clear. went into ABS unit as well and cleared the single code. Airbag light on also. Test Drove with live data of cams and both sides read/perform equally. no surging, or lumping idle. Read codes on return and found none pending or active. Put car in rack and did visual inspect of underside and found no leaks and no issues of concern. Test drove 2nd time for longer to confirm that the performance did not change. Both low beam bulbs inop. Recommend oil change with high quality oil as well as OEM filter. It is common for this system to have issues due to incorrect oil, dirty oil or poor filtration from low quality filters. If problems persists, further diag will be required but faults/symptoms must return to be able to check into it further. Customer requested low beam bulbs be replaced. Replaced both with new.
    • Added to engine flush before change. Ran to operating temp @ different rpm ranges, drained while warm. Replace engine oil and filter. Test drove for another 10+ mi, no CEL or running issues returned. Recommend driving vehicle normally and return for further diagnosis if faults or symptoms return. Recommend oil changes at 5k intervals – next change due at 140k

    • Test drove and confirmed noise, sounds like right front corner, only on left turns. Put car on lift for inspection and found new brake pads on DS font only. Brakes are very rusty (all). Removed RF wheel, caliper and brake rotor. Found significant amount of rust and debris behind caliper and rotor pads are VERY low – around 1mm left – suspect rotor is touching caliper. Cleaned and re-installed and test drove. Noise is still present but now is only audible on LF. Removed LF wheel and inspected, rotor is very rusty and backing plate was slightly bent, cleaned out back side of rotor between backing plate, bent plate back into correct position and test drove again. Measured rotor thickness, Minimum spec is 22mm, currently DS measures at 23.4mm. Noise is still present, not audible when car is on rack in air with wheels spinning and turned lock to lock. Stethoscope checked each side and no noise is audible when wheels are not loaded. Found PS rear wheel bearing is VERY loud, DS is also noisy, neither are loose at this time. Noise is still present, was able to recreate in shop and had 2nd person listen outside the car, sounds is coming from LF. Brake pads are down to 1mm or less and bad wear indicator clips are sticking out past pads. Suspect when wheel is loaded while turning clip is just slightly touching rotor. Recommend new pads and rotors – all – due to very poor condition and rust as well as very low pad in LF.
    • Replaced both front pads and rotors. Found 1 bolt on each side for the mounting bracket VERY rusty, replaced 2 bolts on DS with new and used best 2 old bolts on passenger side. Cleaned hubs with wire brush and brake clean before reassembly. Old pads on passenger side had less than 1mm on outer pad and there is wear marks visible on the pad wear indicator clips – likely source of front end noise. After replacing fronts I spun the rear wheels while up in the air, both sides made similar noise to the front. Performed test drive to bed in front pads, ticking sound with wheel rotating noted from both rear wheels leaving the shop, front end sounds quiet. No noise present when turning left or right. After bedding in front pads rear noise went away. Due to condition of rear brakes suspect customer will experience more noises until rear brakes are replaced. Brake pedal is firm and front brakes feel smooth after break in.
