  • CEL o/a – no other lights on in dash. Battery voltage was low o/a but engine still cranked over OK. Found multiple faults stored, see report (given to customer) for more details. ECU fault was knock sensor – no signal. VTM4 was for powertrain malfunction. TPMS shows dead sensor in 3 wheels and a low battery fault in the 1 other tire. Recommend replacing TPMS sensors and re-calibrating. Knock sensor is most likely cause for no signal error, wiring looks OK. Cleared faults for now but will likely come back until knock sensor fault is resolved.

  • P0544.01 – Exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit – bank 1 – upper limit exceeded Checked fuses for egt circuit – good. Located sensor indicated by fault code and tested power and sensor circuits – both tested OK. Checked results and confirmed – power supply and ohm reading for sensor within range. When sensor is disconnected (open circuit) the reading in the ECU is 930. Re-assembled, cleared faults and test drove, fault returned. Also noticed during test drive reading live data sensor reading was sporadic and would often go open (reading the max value) while driving. Recommend replacing EGT sensor due to intermittent fault in sensor.

Drained and refilled rear differential and transfer case fluids.(they were needed) New cabin air filter. (old 1 had been critter chewed) New engine air filter. Other fluids checked out OK, Brake fluid still clean. Slight weep on front V/C gasket. Not major but does get the alternator dirty. **Inspection of brakes showed front pads at 2mm inner, and 5 mm outer. Some pulsation felt in rotors during test drive. **Front brakes soon** – recommend fluid flush when replacing front brakes. Rear brakes are OK for awhile at 5mm inner and outer pads.
